Our Subteam Structure
Strategy - Reads the rules and figures out the max scoring potential. They then do scouting at the competition to collect data on other robots there to see who best would fit in with our strategy during alliance selections before the playoff matches.
Design - Takes the list of priorities defined by strategy and starts CADing/Designing what the robot's mechanical mechanisms will look like, where the wires will go and create drawings for parts to be manufactured.
Build - Takes the drawings from the design team and starts manufacturing all the parts and assembling them into the Robot. They use a variety of tools, most notably a Mill, Lathe and sending parts out to be CNC machined though we are working on bringing this CNC capability in house to increase turnaround time on parts.
Electronics - Wires up all the motors, sensors etc. in order to make all the mechanisms move.
Programming - Writes all the code for the driver's controls and creates autonomous programs to let the robot use all the sensors and drive itself for a portion of the matches.
